Woman, 60, dies after motorbike collision in Staffordshire

Officers believe collision occurred in Staffordshire on Tuesday between a car and motorcycle

A 60-year-old woman has died in hospital following a collision with a motorbike in Staffordshire.

A 23-year-old man remains in hospital with serious injuries following the incident in the Aylesbury area on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and are treating it as a homicide investigation.

In a statement on Wednesday night, police said they were keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have dashcam footage.

Sergeant Daniel Brown, of Staffordshire police, said: “We’re conducting a very thorough investigation to establish the exact circumstances of this collision.

“There’s no doubt that this has been a devastating tragedy for the family of the 60-year-old woman, and we would ask any of those in the area that saw what happened to please come forward and speak to police.

“Motorcyclists do not have as high a chance of survival as drivers. I would ask them to take every precaution – wearing safety clothes, turning on their lights, concentrating and staying alert – if you are in a situation where you feel you are at risk of a collision.

“Also, if you are up cycling in daylight, know that there are lots of CCTV cameras in the area and download the footage you have.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101.
