Police say 55-year-old man filmed and photographed his girlfriend and models for lingerie company in Fredericton store
A man has been charged with voyeurism after a model allegedly found a device placed in a Victoria’s Secret lingerie shop’s change room.
According to police, a woman complained she found the device in a store in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on 24 December.
A Victoria’s Secret employee reviewed the video and made several statements in the matter. The man, identified by police as 55-year-old Robert Cripe, was later arrested and charged with voyeurism.
Court documents, first reported by Halifax’s 9 News, show Cripe has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Victoria’s Secret said in a statement that the retailer was unaware of the incident, and contacted Fredericton police to “ensure their complete compliance” with requirements to preserve potential evidence.
“When we became aware of the police investigation, we immediately cooperated with them and reported the incident,” the statement said. “We are committed to the safety and privacy of our customers. This employee is no longer employed with the company.”
